Founded in September 1948 by Joseph & Anthony Symczyk, family owned and operated for the last 60 years.
Joe served in the US Navy during World War II, on four different ships from 1942 to 1945. He was permitted a thirdy day leave and transfered to then Northampton(now known as Mount Holly, NJ). He worked in the textile industry making furniture cloth, and was layed off shortly during a company down-turn. Joe purchased the property (now on Route 38) in 1948 for $600.00, borrowing the money from his brother Tony. His brother Tony also built a house with the intent to sell it but never actually moved from that house. They both felt the pinch of the economy, and decided it would be good to start a business.
Soon after they built the store front in just about 30 days, which still is in use today. They started selling hardware but found there was not much profit return in that business. However they did find that the plumbing and heating supply's were the most profitable. And with that knowledge the business took form into what it is today.
